Throughout the Association’s 100-year existence, our goal is to provide the highest level of products and services to the membership. IAVM’s annual budget process begins every year in October through December in preparation for the Mid-Year Board Meeting held in January. Due to inflation, the cost of delivering services, and the need to fund new technology for the benefit of the members, leadership has accepted a recommendation made by your representatives, the Membership Committee.
The Membership Committee examined the organization’s current dues structure as part of its annual duties. After many discussions, reviews, and research, the IAVM leadership was given a recommendation to raise dues to implement with the Association’s fiscal year 2024-2025. By doing this, IAVM will continue its legacy of offering exceptional educational programs, advocacy, and research benchmarking products. Note that the last dues increase occurred five years ago in 2019.
The new dues amounts will go into effect for new members on April 1, 2024. Existing members with a June 1st renewal date or later will reflect the new dues amounts.
This serves as the official notice to IAVM members. See the dues amounts below.
Young Professional and Student dues will remain the same, $250, and $75 respectively.
If you have any questions, contact membership@iavm.org or call: 972.906.7441. We appreciate your support.
IAVM recently announced its participation with the International Association of Exhibitions & Events (IAEE) on the creation of the Exhibitions Industry Collective to drive awareness on essential issues centered around workforce development, sustainability, and health & safety within the exhibitions ecosystem.
The Exhibitions Industry Collective is comprised of six key industry organizations including Exhibitions & Conferences Alliance (ECA), Exhibition Services & Contractors Association (ESCA), Experiential Designers & Producers Association (EDPA), International Association of Exhibitions & Events (IAEE), International Association of Venue Managers (IAVM), and the Society of Independent Show Organizers (SISO).
Each organization has previously worked together on advocacy with ECA and are now expanding this effort to address workforce development, sustainability, and health and safety as a unified effort. By leveraging the strengths in their respective fields, the Collective will better serve the larger exhibitions and events community by bringing more awareness to key stakeholders and a defined path of success for each member base.
To kick off 2024, IAEE will host a virtual Exhibitions Industry Awareness Week from 20-23 February and will feature each of the six organizations in the Collective.
The purpose of Exhibitions Industry Awareness Week is to promote the exhibitions industry as a career path opportunity to students, faculty, those looking for a career change and all members in each industry sector. Attendees will learn about sector specific information including jobs available to those considering a career along with salary information, skill requirements and training needed.
Stay tuned in the next few weeks for a new website for the Exhibitions Industry Collective that will feature a defined roadmap for the Collective’s initiatives and house top level information on each organization in the Collective. The site will serve as a launch point for more exhibitions industry sector details depending on the interest of the user.
Registration for Exhibitions Industry Awareness Week will open at the end of January.
The deadline to nominate a young professional that is on the rise to the 30|UNDER|30 Class of 2024 is February 2, 2024!
30|UNDER|30 focuses on identifying and developing the talent of venue industry professionals, 30 years of age and under, through increased access and exposure to industry networking and thought leadership. The Foundation’s vision for this year’s 30|UNDER|30 is to honor and inspire the next generation of leaders in the public assembly industry, and the Class of 2024 will represent the best of the best who show passion and drive for our industry!
Selected applicants will receive a complimentary registration to attend VenueConnect, IAVM’s annual conference & trade show. Honorees will be notified in May and recognized formally at VenueConnect 2024 in Portland, OR on July 28 – 31, 2024.
