You may have noticed that I’m one of the newest members of the IAVM staff here in Texas. As I’ve been telling my friends and former co-workers about my new job, I keep getting asked what it is exactly that IAVM does or who makes up the association. I usually share with them a textbook definition, but that rarely hits on an emotional level.
Now, though, there’s something we can all share with people who want to know more about IAVM. It’s our membership video, and we just released it into the wild. It’s right there above all this text, and you can watch it, too. Please feel free to share it with current members and future members. And let us know in the comments your thoughts about it.
Thank you for being a member, and thank you for having me on board.
Not sure if it was the cinematography or the editing, but found this difficult to watch. Lots of handheld shots, strange angles, and lots of random zooms in and out. Sound quality was good as well as and music selection.
Video was vague. Not sure if that was intentional? In a video highlighting membership, if the target is a potential new member, there’s not much mentioned specifically that I could take back to a manager to say why IAVM is valuable other than vague like education. Isn’t that inherent in a professional organization? Professional development & education? Perhaps a video that says what the association does would be a selling tool. Tammy touched on VenueNet which is a great asset. Venue Data Source. Online library. Facility Manager Magazine. Relationships with Allied Members. CFE program. Trade show. Annual Conference. ICCC. ICMC. AMC. ISMC. PAMC. VMS. AVSS. SES. [perhaps a joke thrown in on how much we like acronyms? 🙂 ] Mentor Connector Program. Chapters. Regional Meetings. IAVM Foundation. etc. Highlights of those and more, to me, would show concrete examples of IAVM’s value to someone who doesn’t know how vast an array of opportunities we offer.
[wish there was an edit function on comments so I correct my mistakes. whoops. #4am ]
